VoicePrint Celebrates 11th Anniversary as Broadcaster for Vision and Other Print-Restricted Canadians

Annual General Meeting to Coincide With Milestone

TORONTO, Nov. 21, 2001 - VoicePrint, the audio version of daily news and current-affairs information packaged for the vision and print-restricted communities, celebrates its 11th anniversary on December 1, 2001. To toast the milestone, alumni of volunteer readers with a history of 10 and five years of service with the media charity will read the daily news throughout the anniversary day and all volunteers have been invited to celebrate VoicePrint's achievements at the November 30th annual general meeting.

Since 1990, more than 600 volunteers a year have read full-text articles and current stories published by Canadian and international newspaper and magazines for VoicePrint. Past volunteers included CBC's Peter Mansbridge, Global News' Bev Thompson, CFRB's Connie Sinclair and CFTO's Pat Foran and Carol Charles.

At NBRS' annual general meeting (Friday, November 30, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. at the York Reception Centre, 1100 Millwood Road) volunteers and community members will hear about and be able to celebrate its initiatives during the last year. To RSVP attendance for Friday, November 30, 2001, please call Jerry Bagelman at (416) 422-4222, extension 233.
