Canadian Paralympic Team goes for Gold in Salt Lake City on VoicePrint

TORONTO, February 28, 2002 - For the eighth Winter Paralympic Games, VoicePrint will provide comprehensive daily coverage of Canada's 27 athletes competing in Salt Lake City throughout the duration of the 10-day event, starting on March 7.

To capture all the excitement of competition, VoicePrint will host national coverage that can be heard at 5:00 p.m. and a.m ET throughout the games. Each show will carry the latest results, medal standings, interviews, profiles, event descriptions and classifications, Paralympic history, as well as special audio features from Canada's team in Salt Lake City.

"We've been the official media sponsor and covering the Paralympic Games for our millions of listeners since 1996," explains VoicePrint manager, Arlene Patterson. "These Games provide our elite Paralympic athletes an opportunity to shine on a world stage equal to the Olympic Games; they represent Canada and deserve no less. VoicePrint is committed to bringing the Games home to Canadians because what our athletes accomplish at the Paralympic Games make an important social statement about achievements of persons with disabilities."

"With each Games we see our Canadian team achieve stronger results and have more and more Canadians rejoice in our successes as organizations such as VoicePrint relay timely information back to their audience." says Brian MacPherson, director general for Canadian Paralympic Committee.

Canadian Paralympic Game coverage can be heard across Canada on VoicePrint on cable through the S.A.P. of CBC Newsworld, on Star Choice channel 825, on Express Vu channel 967, on Look TV channel 100 (audio 2) or live on the Internet at www.voiceprint.ca.
