The population of British Columbia has increased by 625,677
between 1991 and 2001. More importantly, population shifts within the
province have made it necessary to adjust the federal electoral boundaries. These proposals
are important because they may affect your electoral district. To find out
if these proposed changes will affect you, call the BC Elections Canada office
at 1-888-999-0114 and don't forget to mention you heard it on VoicePrint.
The Federal Electoral Boundaries Commission for British Columbia will
be
holding public hearings on the readjustment of federal electoral boundaries.
The hearings will provide the public with the opportunity to express
their
views on the federal electoral boundaries and electoral district names
proposed by the Commission.
The commission intends to hold public hearings in the following locations:
