Voiceprint Remembers
Nov 7, 2003 (Toronto, ON) VoicePrint Canada proudly presents VoicePrint
Remembers, a series of special programs honouring Remembrance Day, this
November 11th.
At 11:00 am (all times Eastern), VoicePrint will honour the dead with
two minutes of silence, followed by the recital of Flanders Field and
the reading of Maclean’s Magazine’s WWI feature, “Diary
of Doom”.
At 12:30 pm, the Honourable Barney Danson shares his memories of World
War II with VoicePrint’s Kelly Ashton.
At 2:00 pm and 9:30 pm, VoicePrint Ottawa presents poignant excerpts
from the Dominion Institute’s Memory Project where Canadian Veterans
share first-person accounts of their experiences.
At 5:00 pm, VoicePrint Alberta presents World War II Veterans, Del Pine
and Neil Hamilton reciting war-related original works of poetry and prose.
At 7:00 pm, we present an hour of special articles on The Poppy, Juno
beach and a feature titled “Widows at War” – stories
of the hardships faced by many widows of War Veterans.
At 9:00 pm, VoicePrint British Columbia presents a special Remembrance
Day BC Profile program.
Established in 1989, NBRS is a not-for-profit organization set up to
respond to the needs of blind, low-vision, senior and other print-restricted
Canadians for access to printed news, information and entertainment. VoicePrint
Canada, a division of NBRS, provides an audio information service via
the S.A.P. of CBC Newsworld and the Internet.
