National Federation of the Blind, Annual General Meeting

VoicePrint is pleased to announce that four half-hour
broadcasts originating from the Annual General Meeting of the National
Federation of the Blind: advocates for equality (NFB:AE) will air on the
service’s Ability Today program. Ability Today can be heard Saturdays
and Sundays at 1:30 and 7:30pm ET .
The first broadcast airing on June 1st , will feature
the Presidential Report as delivered by Mr. Gordon Dingle, President NFB:AE.
In his report Mr. Dingle reviews the last 12 months and looks at future
initiatives. Also featured on this broadcast will be the announcement
of the 2002 NFB:Ae scholarship recipiants, as announced by Mr. John Rae,
Second Vice President.
The second show, airing on June 2 will feature a presentation
made by Mr. Phil Shaw from the Ontario Community Support Association who
will speak on the topic of Increasing Viability. Mr. Richard Marion, first
Vice President of the NFB:AE also speak to us about the organizations
role in the British Columbia Audio book program issue.
The following weekend, the third show on June 8th will
be part one of a two part feature on The Freedom Box. Our guest will be
Mr. Mike Calvo, CEO Serotek Corporation, who in an elaborate audio takes
us through the projects development.
The following day, June 9th on part two of the presentation
featuring Mr. Calvo, the Freedom box is demonstrated to a captive audience
at the NFB:AE convention. The Freedom box has best been described as the
AOL for those who are vision impaired. To hear more about these exciting
