Paralympic Hero Steps Up to the Microphone

Pfizer Canada Paralympic Show Goes Swimming!

Toronto, ON (February 7, 2003) – After climbing the podium six times, World Swimming Champion, Donovan Tildesley is ready to step up to the microphone on “Pfizer Canada’s Paralympic Show” on VoicePrint.

18-year-old Tildesley swims in the S11 category for vision-impaired swimmers and will discuss how and why he became involved in competitive sport. “I see my athletic performances only as a small portion of who I really am as a person,” he said, “I may train a great deal but I always try to endeavour to be more than just ‘Donovan the Swimmer’.”

The Pfizer series, to be broadcast Saturday, February 15th at 1 pm Eastern and rebroadcast March 1st at 1 pm Eastern, is a monthly program series produced by VoicePrint. The show spotlights the Paralympic Movement and the 12th Summer Paralympic Games to be held in Athens next year.

“Winning medals is a goal we all strive for and the pursuit of excellence is a shared responsibility,” states Karen Spierkel, CEO, Swimming Canada. “Our Commit to Win philosophy reflects the contribution that everyone who is involved in the development of an athlete makes in realizing that goal. We sincerely appreciate the collaboration of VoicePrint and Pfizer Canada in making the production and distribution of these programs possible.”
